One of DreamWave's central contributions to the body of dream work is to assert that recurring dreams are stories about your personal take on shame.
I also grew up in the 'burbs, Downers Grove to be exact.
So your dream is a story about your shame. Remember that shame means that you believe that by nature you are inadequate.
This dream would be showing you that no matter what you do it is never enough and no body else cares anyway.
There are six ways to compensate for this shame: perfection, blame, withdrawal, anger, contempt, or superiority.
Now that you are waking up in your dream the next step is to wake up while awake and see how you shame yourself.
