I know that the physiology of dream time is the same as waking time.

So if I am surprised or shocked in my dream I will have the same physiological response I would have if awake.

The only difference is the type/depth/nature of unconsciousness involved be my eyes open or closed.

Imagine what you might have been dreaming to trigger such a response.

I have not heard of any connection between the 'brain snap' and meds.
