A vivid dream/nightmare indeed.
Rather than hazard a quess at what it means for you let me say a few words about the nightmarre form.
Nightmares seem to distill repressed unconscious content that the dreamer has not found a way to integrate into a workable conscious perspective.
Some nightmares reflect the character of the greater collective unconscious which we all know is filled with violence.

Otherwise, a task for you might be to form a question before you go to sleep about either who the axman is and what he wants: slaughtering the young feminine within you, or ask your inner father what makes him flee in the face of danger.
